Lovejoy Health Center Welcomes New Provider Ruth Coffey, LCSW

ALBION – Ruth Ellen Coffey, LCSW, will be welcomed to the Lovejoy Health Center this fall as we expand behavioral health services at the health center. Patients have been pleased to access on-site assistance with emotional challenges, coping with chronic conditions or a new diagnosis, and issues that affect their overall wellness across the life cycle. Ruth brings a wealth of experience in the areas of oncology, palliative care, substance use and mental health. She completed bachelor and master of social work degrees at the University of Maine in 1990 and 1992 respectively.

Ruth recently shared: “Since leaving rural northern Maine where I was born and raised I have been interested in returning to a small community.  Once I met the Lovejoy Health Center professional team and witnessed the passion they have for their patients, the community, and each other I knew I had found the right place. My approach includes solution focused, strengths-based and cognitive behavioral therapies guided by individual needs and goals for change in patterns that are not working.”

Ruth will be joining physicians Dean Chamberlain and Forrest West, podiatrist Bert Mason, physician assistants Gretchen Morrow and Bobby Keith, family nurse practitioner Kaitlynn Read, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner Marta Hall, and clinical social worker Deb Daigle.
