Richmond Health Center to Hold Poster Contest for Kids at Local Library

RICHMOND – Richmond Area Health Center will partner with Umberhine Library to hold a poster contest on Thursday, August 17 from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. in celebration of National Health Center Week during the final day of the library’s Summer Reading Program.

Health Center staff will be on hand to provide water and healthy snacks, as well as materials for the poster contest.  The final posters will be hung with pride in the Health Center’s waiting room.  The library will also provide a Slip & Slide with paint for kids to enjoy. Children must bring their own white clothing as their “canvases” for the Slip & Slide.

Umberhine Library is located at 86 Main Street in Richmond.  Richmond Area Health Center is located at 24 Gardiner Street in Richmond. For questions about the Poster Contest, please call the Health Center at (207) 737-4359.

The event is being held in celebration of National Health Center Week, which runs from August 13th through 19th. This year’s theme for National Health Center Week is “Celebrating America’s Health Centers:  The Key to Healthier Communities.” One of the bright spots in America’s health care system, Community Health Centers serve more than 25 million Americans, a number that continues to grow along with the demand for affordable primary care.
